Sustainability at Agriturismo i Pitti

The climate changes so evident in recent years require us to reflect and take actions that lead to a drastic reduction in the consumption of the planet's resources and a control of the polluting emissions produced by our lifestyle.

At Agriturismo I Pitti we have always been committed to respecting nature and to having an increasingly aware attitude which translates into various actions that we have undertaken over the years.

It is our commitment to continue on this path and lead an increasingly sustainable lifestyle, trying in our small way to do our best.

We like to share this thought with all those who decide to spend a holiday with us, with the utmost respect for nature and therefore for ourselves.


Electric car charging station

Starting in 2025, we will offer our guests the opportunity to charge their electric cars at the Agriturismo's parking area.

Photovoltaic system for the production of clean energy

Since 2010 we have equipped our property with a photovoltaic system for the production of electricity of 13 KW which allows us to be almost completely self-sufficient even in the high season.

Solar panels for the production of hot water

Also for the production of hot water we have decided to use the sun as clean and renewable energy sufficient for everyone even when the farm is full. Since 2007 we have installed solar panels that produce 1000 liters of hot water per day

Certificate of exclusive use of energy from renewable sources

We produce the energy we need independently, but the small amount of additional energy that may occasionally be required comes exclusively from renewable sources.

Cultivation of olive trees without the use of chemicals

In the cultivation of our olive trees for the production of extra virgin olive oil we do not use any chemical product.

We let nature decide how many olives to produce and obtain the oil with the simple cold extraction of the olives for a product of the highest quality, but in very limited quantities, respecting the natural alternation of greater and lesser quantities of fruits offered by the plants.

It is an organic cultivation that exploits the association between plants and microorganisms to create the best conditions for the development and growth of vegetables

Cheers to the alternating blooms

All the plants and flowers that grow on our territory are not subjected to any chemical treatment. There is therefore no danger of intoxication at any time of the year, neither for children nor for animals nor for any of our guests.

To promote biodiversity in a large area of our fields, the grass is cut only at the end of the season. In this way we can enjoy the various blooms that alternate month after month with their colors and scents.

And the bees thank us.


Chicken life: ours are not doing badly at all

In our hen house live about ten hens and ducks that give us eggs with an exquisite and intense flavor.

Pure water, clear water

We are also fortunate to be able to use spring water, which flows from the ground uphill of our property. It is one of the elements we use consciously and sparingly, knowing full well how much water becomes increasingly precious.

We appreciate this fortune every day that and are happy to share this privilege with our guests.

The happiest bees in the world


Even our bees, which can look for the nectar of flowers in the uncontaminated environment that surrounds us, give us fabulous honey in very small quantities and can boast that they are the happiest in the world, not being subjected to any chemical or pharmacological treatment to push the production of honey.

The first Klima House in Tuscany

In 2008, about 50 meters from the historic house, we built a building using the innovative insulation and energy saving techniques offered by the KlimaHaus system by Rubner Haus. We were the first in Tuscany and we have not regretted it.


Separate waste collection

We scrupulously follow the separate collection of waste and we also allow our guests to do it without complications and difficulties by providing the various bins clearly marked in a precise and easily accessible point in our structure.
